Who we are
ACTION Food Pantry is a coalition of volunteers, churches, and communities in and around Covina. Our mission is to provide food assistance to those in need, including families, seniors, and those experiencing housing insecurity, joblessness, and under-employment.
We partner with area congregations, pantries, cities, foundations, and associations, working together to ensure donated food gets to those in need as soon as possible.
Hosted at Grace Lutheran Church, Covina, ACTION Food Pantry distributes food weekly. We supply shelf staples (canned and packaged food), fresh produce, meat and other protein sources, and frozen meals.
We distribute food Thursdays from Noon to 3:00pm on the campus of Grace Lutheran Church, Covina. New clients may sign up Thursdays during distribution hours.
How you can help
Insecurity about SNAP and WIC benefits has put over 40 million Americans at risk of hunger. More expensive groceries means families risk skipping meals, turn to cheaper and less nutritious ultra-processed foods, or are unable to pay for medication or rent. The average household benefit of a CalFresh recipient is $189 monthly.
We give food to anyone in need who asks us for aid, feeding over 400 people a week. And now, with record numbers of new clients signing up, our pantry risks being depleted.
Donations to the ACTION Food Pantry are always welcome - they are tax deductible, and allow us to purchase exactly what is needed. Checks can be made out to ACTION Food Pantry and sent to ACTION Food Pantry at 17880 E. Covina Blvd., Covina, CA 91722.
